System: DOEHRS

Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System

a.k.a, DOHRS

The Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS) is an integrated Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) application supporting Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives to capture, store, and analyze the exposure history of military-related personnel throughout their life.

The DOEHRS suite includes DOEHRS-HC (Hearing Conservation) and DOEHRS-IH (Industrial Hygiene). DOEHRS-HC provides noise exposure surveillance, diagnostic evaluation and management of auditory pathology, hearing loss and injury referrals, auditory readiness documentation, and documentation of medical outcomes. DOEHRS-IH provides the ability to capture workplace and environmental exposure information, support industrial hygiene decisions, directly view environmental laboratory results and actively track air, water and soil environmental hazards in theater operations. If "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure", DOEHRS’ support of preventive environmental, safety, hearing conservation, and occupational health programs will save the U.S. taxpayer billions of dollars throughout its lifecycle.
